“Paintings, like dreams, have a life of their own and I have always painted very much the way I dream.”
Leonor Fini
“Lepri paints as if he had multiple eyes, as if he possessed multiple senses, each of which corresponds to entirely particular functions, entirely different results.”

This exhibition continues the exploration of the visionary universe of Leonor Fini (1907-1996) and Stanislao Lepri (1905-1980) with a selection of works created between the 1930s and 1970s, including drawings, theatre studies and graphic works by Leonor Fini, shown alongside Lepri’s visionary landscapes and elusive characters. Without following achronological or thematic criterion, the works engage in a dialogue of symbolic references and formal resonances that highlight the profound harmony between the two personalities, united by over fourty years of shared life and artistic collaboration.
Far from the main artistic movements and united by a deep affinity, the two artists developed over time complementary languages and an artistic path marked by mutual influence.
With Leonor Fini / Stanislao Lepri, Tommaso Calabro continues his line of research, always oriented toward a critical rereading of the twentieth century, with particular attention to those eccentric, marginal or independent figures who stood apart from official movements. In this perspective, the works of Leonor Fini and Stanislao Lepri offer an opportunity to investigate and acknowledge two personalities united by a visionary vocation, radically free in their languages and still surprising today for their relevance and for the consistency of a vision that has always eluded classification.
